First, we got our court date. It is Tuesday April 26th. We are grateful for having a date! I was hopeful that it would be sooner but we were told by people at the adoption agency in St Paul that the government typically shuts down during every religious holiday and next week is Holy week. I am a bit disappointed but I expected the news. We are enjoying our time here but I want this to be official - for Danni to be a legal part of our family. He has already won our hearts over and we want to bring him home to meet our families. So we basically hang out for the next couple of weeks. We made plans for the next 2 weekends and a couple of afternoon outings so the time should hopefully fly by.
I included a picture of the mountains from our window. If you look closely there are 3 peaks with snow on them. We did not notice them before so either they were always cloud covered or with all the rain we have had they got snowed on. It was pretty cool looking! Today we went to the Botanical Garden which is also near by - next to the Parque La Carolina. It is really beautiful. We just walked around and looked at the plants and flowers. Emma was bummed when we got to the carnivourous plant area as it was closed for maintenance - that was her main reason for wanting to go. Not sure if she will go back - she didn't complain but I am sure it was a little boring for her. There was a childrens area where they had a huge tree house and a maze to go through. We played on that for a little bit but it was quite muddy because of all the rain we have had. Actually our courtyard is also flooded. It was a pretty hard rain last night. Oh yeah, when we were trying to catch a taxi to get home Danni was doing his taxi yell and waving his arm! He is such a crack up!! I have this vision of him and the nun that cared for him trying to hail a taxi!! Too cute!! Emma by the way likes to hail taxis down too! :) I need to find something to do Thursday as our cleaning woman comes and spends 4 hours here. I feel like I am totally in her way - Hayden at his computer and 2 kids running around! We might just end up at the mall again. Emma begged all day to go - she wants to go to the arcade again. That is it for tonight. I have to get Danni to chill out. He wont go to bed and fall asleep - he has been falling asleep on someones lap. He has slept through the night a couple of times but typically wakes up once and cries from his bed. I go in and 5 minutes later he is back to sleep. We are getting better!! Good night! Mari
